Where I live today with my husband and 6 children, we are surrounded by green pastures and all the very best that nature brings to us. After finishing school I completed an apprenticeship in funeral directing and embalming. I was so passionate about the funeral service industry that I went to America at 19 years old and completed a degree and professional training in Mortuary Science. During my time in the United States, I began to research sustainable methods for burial and cremation. I was in search of an end-of-life choice that was greener and more sustainable than the options available. I discovered Resomation, also known as Water Cremation, Aquamation or Alkaline Hydrolysis. I then began the very challenging journey to bring Resomation to Ireland. The innovation and technology that would provide a more eco-friendly, safe, and gentle alternative to flame cremation or burial.
"People spend a year organizing and getting ready for their wedding, where two hundred people might see them. Yet when you're dead, you have nothing prepared and there could be two thousand people coming to view you... So it's a huge privilege for me to give the person my time and to be able to look after them the way I would look after my own."
