Private Resomation is the ultimate green, sustainable and affordable choice for your end-of-life journey. With this option, there is no requirement for a coffin or embalming therefore reducing unnecessary cost and being kinder to the environment. Our team will simply collect and prepare the body for resomation, allowing the family time and space to organize a celebration of life service that truly reflects the life lived.

At Pure Reflections, we are honoured to serve families across all of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Our Private Resomation service is designed to provide you with complete peace of mind. We handle every detail with care, from the respectful collection of your loved one’s remains from their place of rest to the hand-delivery of the urn to the family.
Should you wish to have a traditional funeral, we will collaborate closely with your local funeral director, guiding them through every step of the resomation process to ensure everything aligns with your wishes.
The resomated remains, or ashes, are carefully returned to the family in a biodegradable wooden urn, which is both eco-friendly and a respectful way to honour your loved one’s memory. Along with the urn, we provide a transitional candle, symbolising the journey from this life to the next, as well as a smart memorial card. This card, powered by NFC technology, allows you to store and easily access treasured memories—like photos, tributes, and music—by simply tapping the card on a smart device. These thoughtful additions help create a meaningful and lasting tribute to your loved one.
A Digital ID tag is assigned to your loved one once they arrive at our facility. Each ID Tag has a unique reference number (URN) and also all the details about the person. This ID Tag accompanies the body throughout the resomation process so you can be 100% confident that the right remains will be returned to you. In addition, all of your loved ones details are logged directy into the resomation machine, the macine will not commence the proces until this step is complete.
Every family has a choice in how they would like the coffin to be handled. They can choose to recycle, donate or keep the coffin. If the family choose to recycle the coffin, it will be re-purposed into presentation boxes for our urns and given back to the family. This is in keeping with our eco friendly and sustainable ethos at Pure Reflections.
After the resomation process, the liquid by-product undergoes a rigorous treatment to ensure environmental safety. We have implemented advanced filtration and purification systems, ensuring that the water released post-resomation undergoes multiple levels of treatment to meet and exceed all regulatory requirements. This water is not released directly into the wastewater treatment system as commonly described. Instead, we adhere to the most stringent guidelines for ecological preservation, guaranteeing that the final water product is free from any contaminants before being reintroduced back into the ecosystem.
Burial is considered the least environmentally friendly choice, partly because of its land consumption but also due to its single use of a coffin and resulting groundwater pollution.
Cremation with fire also typically involves a single-use coffin, emits CO2 and toxic fumes like mercury into the atmosphere and is energy intensive.
Resomation, by contrast, uses one-tenth of the energy needed for flame-based cremation, it does not pollute our groundwater and has zero emissions. Only 100% biodegradable material can be used in resomation, you don’t need a coffin. If you do want a coffin for a viewing or ceremony, you can opt for a rental coffin or our unique presentation base, ensuring no valuable materials go to waste.
