What Is Resomation?

Resomation is a water-based process that accelerates the same natural decomposition that occurs after burial, but in a carefully controlled environment.

Instead of using flames and intense heat, resomation uses:

• 95% water

• 5% alkali solution ( the opposite of an acid)

• Gentle heat

• Pressure-controlled conditions

Over approximately 3–4 hours, the body is respectfully returned to its natural organic components. The only material remaining is the mineral structure of the bones.

These bones are then processed into a fine white powder and returned to the family in an urn, just as ashes would be following traditional cremation.
